JaAberNe, Die Datei and Shards.Upon.Nihil come out on top in BUNTWALD band contest

How exciting was that? Up until the last minute, the ten participants were busy collecting votes to make their dream of performing at the BUNTWALD festival come true. The winners of the band contest have now been announced.

From November 16 to 30, festival fans had time to vote online for their favorite band they would like to see on the BUNTWALD stage next year. Early on, JaAberNe from Mariazell near Schramberg came out on top of the voting – and didn’t let this place be taken away until the end. But there was a lively neck-and-neck race for second place: The bands kept changing places and even on the last day of voting, it was not entirely certain who would win the second ticket for the stage until shortly before the end. In the end, the three guys from Die Datei from the Wolftal valley were the lucky ones.

BUNTWALD jury awards wild card

But it wasn’t just the audience that decided: our BUNTWALD jury itself awarded a wildcard to one of the remaining eight bands. We really were spoiled for choice - and had plenty to discuss. In the end, the choice fell on Shards.Upon.Nihil from the Kinzigtal valley. It is now clear which three bands will join the energetic musicians from The Magic Mumble Jumble and the brass stars from LaBrassBanda on stage.

More than 2500 votes

The band contest itself was also a complete success: a total of 2514 votes were cast for the ten participating bands, with more than 800 on the busiest day. Our thanks go to all those who took part in the voting, but above all to the ten bands who entered the competition: You all worked really hard and were highly motivated. That’s why all of you really would have deserved to win. But we are now super happy with the result and are looking forward to getting started with further preparations.
